In an interview on NBC's "Dateline," slated to air Monday, Sept. 9 at 10 p.m., Fotis Dulos told reporter Dennis Murphy that "I do," "Yes," believe Jennifer Dulos is alive and will show up on someone's doorstep one day.
Asked if he killed his wife, Fotis Dulos said "I did not," and went on to say that based on advice from his attorney, he would "leave it at that."
Filmed before his second arrest on evidence tampering charges on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at his home in of Farmington, Connecticut, Dulos also said the arrests are "an exhausting fight," and "I love my children."
Jennifer Dulos, 50, has not been seen since dropping off her five children at school on Friday, May 24. Her black Chevy Suburban was found abandoned on the side of Lapham Road near Waveny Park in New Canaan after she was reported missing.
Dulos was first arrested, along with his girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, on Saturday, June 1, on charges of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and hindering prosecution. The arrest came after they were allegedly seen on video surveillance dumping garbage bags in dumpsters in Hartford in which items containing Jennifer Dulos' blood were found.
Troconis has also been re-arrested for evidence tampering after she was "less than truthful" with police in interviews.
The two arrests come as new evidence revealed a "bloodlike substance" with the DNA of Jennifer Dulos was located on the seat of Fotis Dulos' employee's truck that had been spotted on video surveillance parked at Lapham Road where Jennifer Dulos' abandoned vehicle was found, state police said in the latest arrest warrant.
According to the warrant, Troconis, who lived with Fotis Dulos with her daughter until his wife's disappearance, also revealed that she had not been truthful about following her boyfriend to a car wash to have "the truck" detailed, days after the disappearance.
During an interview, Troconis was asked by investigators why she thought Dulos was washing the car, and according to the warrant, she replied: "Well obviously...all the evidence says because...you showed me the picture of the blood in the door, it's because the body of Jennifer at some point was in there."
Both have pleaded not guilty and are free on bond.
